The West will win the All-star game because the western conference is much stronger then the eastern. The Dallas Mavericks will win the NBA championship over the wizards in the finals. The rookies will win the rookie challenge because the draft was really weak last year with Bogut being the number one pick.

The West should win the all star game. The team is so packed, evident by guys who would've made the team in the East. (Ray Allen, Chris Paul, Josh Howard, couple others.) But more important, one should realize that the West's lineup have not changed much in the past years. The forwards are as always, KG and TimmyD, and Kobe have hung around for a while. Many reserves have been on the team for several years as well. On the other hand, we have seen some new faces in the East-- they are younger and less experience than players in the West. Many played with each other only once or twice-- in the previous All-star games. A lot of them take a lot of shots and are not familiar of each others' style. They lack the traditional PG. Kidd loves taking shot and so does Billups. Parker and Nash would share the ball and spread the defense much better.

The NBA title should belong to the Mavericks this year. They deserved it last year and should come back stronger this year with new additions of George and Croshere to their bench, a trend which started with San Antonio's Kerr's key 3 pointers several years ago. I really like the Spurs' and Suns' chances too, but while they play very good defense, the Spurs don't seem to have the spark on offense this year. The Suns should be able to run and gun as usual, but Avery Johnson's Mavs should not lose too much on offense, but the defensive mind coach would win a lot on D. The East... is still a couple of years away. When guys like Wade and Howard and Bosh REALLY flourish and become a real superstar, they would start dominating the West after the KG, TimmyD, Kobe generation is over. Right now I only see King James as the real mature youngster in the NBA. Wade lacks the mentality to not showcase his abilities. He force way too many shots and overdribble quite often, though it looks nice when the dribbling works. The Pistons should be able to hold off the Wizards and they should be able to pull off a good fight in the final. The new addition of Webber, however, in my opinion is great and boosted the team a lot. They would come up short in the end, though, as whoever comes out in the West would have already passed several tough tests(but fatigue could be a huge factor).

Finally, the rookie challenge, as we have witnessed in the past few years, is now a horrible game. The trend encourages these guys to dunk it off and shoot whenever they can. Thus, there are not much factors in the game except for the skills of individuals. In this case, Sophomores would win, hands down.

Considering how the NBA is wobbly, I bet the West is going to win the All - Star Game and the MVP will be either Tracy McGrady of the Houston Rockets or Amare Stoudemire of the Phoenix Suns.
In the playoffs, in the quarter finlas, probably the Suns, Mavericks, Spurs, and maybe the Jazz. The Finalists might be the Suns and the Wizards. Then the Suns might win it in a game series of 4 - 3. In the Rookie Challenge, I'm doubting everything but maybe Brandon Roy or LaMarcus Aldrige.

First of all the west will win the all star challenge... They have too many options... Shaq's hurt on the east, Lebron's nursing a big toe and well the west are on a huge streak. Playoffs is a tie with Dallas and Phoenix in the West. Those two are so hot right now I feel the heat here in Wisconsin!!! In the east will be Chicago if they can stay healthy and either Miami or Cleveland... They have the best chance with Wade and Lebron leading respectively. Rookie challenge has got to be the soph's... There is no real standout for the rooks and the sophs have grown up fast!!!

The West will win the All Star game again, without a doubt. When it comes to the playoffs, the Mavericks will probably win because they are the hottest team besides the Suns. The rookie challenge, the sophomores will win because of the leadership of Monta Ellis.

west will win the allstar game. you know the west is that damn good when carmelo, ray allen, elton brand, and baron davis arent on the team. in east, you have bosh, carter, kidd whos teams are all under .500 and rip doesnt deserve to be in it either.
in the playoffs i expect the mavs to come out as victors. they are too good and they have a great defense, something the suns dont have and thats why dallas will win.
rookies vs sophomores. there is no way the rookies can win. the sophomore team is stacked. chris paul, danny granger, monta ellis, david lee, ray felton, deron williams, this will be a blowout not even close. this past draft has been one of the worst i have ever seen.

A Western Conference team (either Dallas or Phoenix) will win the Championship (Dirk or Nash wins MVP)
The Sophomores will dominate the rookies in the Rookie Challenge. (Chris Paul wins MVP)

I really don't know or care. In my opinion, the game now called basketball is an abomination of the original game. It is played by a bunch of misfits who have only one ambition, to make a lot of money. Have you ever watched the original, when we had stuff like palming the ball, double dribble, walking with the ball. Now it no more than an exhibition to see who can score the most points.
