Advantages - instant money transfer. Disadvantage - very very expensive when compared to other methods. If you are in the UK - make a SWIFT payment - get the bank details from the recipient and your bank will do the rest - costs about £20 for any amount. Or, pay by telegraphic transfer (TT) - direct payment from one bank to another - in the US I think this might be called "wiring" money.

advantages- very fast.
disadvantages-to doggone expensive.
