Your information is incorrect.
The castle in Disneyland (California) is Sleeping Beauty Castle and you CAN'T stay there...there's absolutely no room to.
BUT, as part of the Year of a Million Dreams promotion for this year, you CAN stay in a suite inside Cinderella Castle at the Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World (Florida).

Disneyland has Sleeping Beauty's Castle. Cinderella's Castle is in Florida.
As part of A Year of a Million Dreams they randomly pick 1 family each day to "win" a stay in Cinderalla's Castle each night. You can not make reservations and have to be picked.
In Disneyland as part of the Year of a Million Dreams you can also win an overnight stay. But instead of the Castle you stay at the Disneyland Hotel in a newly created Micky's Penthouse.

Staying in the castle is part of the Year of a Million Dreams campaign, and only happens if you are chosen by Disney -- you can't book a stay there (and probably won't ever be able to). Disney Cast Members choose a family each day at random from somewhere on property to stay overnight.

As part of this promotion beginning Oct. 1, one family will be picked each night for a year to spend the night inside Cinderella's Castle. They'll stay in the apartment that's been renamed Mickey's Penthouse.

The castle at Disneyland is Sleeping Beauty's Castle and there is no apartment in there to stay.
They thought they would try to make it work for the "Year of a Million Dreams" promotion, but the castle was not built to accomodate that in any way.
They decided to make a "Mickey Penthouse" at the Disneyland Hotel instead.

Sleeping Beauty's castle as Disneyland is a beautiful castle with a couple of shops. You used to be able to walk up some stairs and some displays about the story.
Cinderella's Castle as Walt Disney World has a restaurant upstairs. It is really nice.
Don't listen to "Kelsey" - she obviously has never been to either park.
