well a true friend would be by your side and stand up for you no matter what and would try to cheer you up when you are down and would love hanging out with you... a fake friend wouldnt care about you and keep using you and asking you for stuff

ok, if your're popular you probably have alot people that are feeding off of you're popularityy.. A true friend would always want to talk to you and actually care about you're personal opinions and problems... Think, if you have any friend that have let you down badly then they're probably not the right friends! a good saying is " If the boy you like rejected you, a friend would comfort you but a true friend would go up to the boy and say " it's because your gay isn't it? "

If you have to put more effort into the friendship than they're willing to, it's fake.
If they are disloyal to you, their friendship is worthless.
If they change their minds about you because of other people's opinions, or pick a different "popular" person to follow around at short notice, the same applies.
If they're fake, you'll know because they won't give a damn about you - just your celebrity status.
If they only want to be around you when things are happening, and when other people are around, and when you're buying things or making them feel important... well, it's obvious really!

a true friend is someone who will like you even if your not popular but like the others said if you cant tell then i think to that your the one whos fake

Well do they agree to everything you say? Are they there for you when you really need them? Would they still be your friends if you weren't popular? Think about it they may just be around you to become popular! Goodluck =)

usually it is a matter of time to tell. you must be popular cuz you have a lot of good strong qualities just put your self some safe healthy boundaries to prevent you from getting caught up in any kind of hurt feelings but know this you will be let down at times no matter what cause that is life.

A real friend is someone that will be there to help you and listen when ever necessary.The fact that you say you are popular says to me you are arrogant and possibly shallow.

can they keep a secret? do they help you when you need it? sometimes, you never really know who's fake or not. i had a friend who stabbed me in the back and i never expected it.
