Jumper cables,A 4 way lug wrench.bungee cords2-3.an adjustable wrench, pair of vise grips,2 screw drivers 1 flathead 1 phillips,a hammer. Also make sure that you are able to actually use the jack that comes with your truck, most of them are crap.Buy a cheap hydraulic jack if need be (not a bottle jack)!a quart of oil and a quart of transmission fluid. And 1 gallon of antifreeze. That should be enough but if you are really concerned put a blanket, a bag of beef jerky, and a gallon of water for drinking. And don't forget the most important --duct tape!

When I still had my F-100, I kept my tools in there, as well as extra parts like hoses/belts/wire, extra fluids, and all my recovery hardware like chains rope, straps, and shackles. I kept my hi-lift jack bolted and locked to the lid.
