Because people like one of the people who posted still deny its excistance even after its been proven by almost every major scientist.

Also those who do don't think they will have an impact, even though simple changes in life like conserving energy and practicing recycling instead of inceneration.

Then there are those in their Hummers and Lincoln Navigators who just don't care. They figure they will be dead and they won't have to deal with it as well as thinking they don't need to do anything because they are comfortable the way they are.

The truth is the leaders from around the world including China and the U.S. need to reduce emissions, expand renewable enrgies like wind and solar where they can. They should also invest in cleaner burning aircraft and water boats.

Humans are willing to do something about global warming they just need a voice to lead them and some real direction.

Coz they don't feel empowered - they do not participate in any social, communal or political matters, ever. They say they're too stressed out & too busy & too poor to, and they have too many other responsibilities. Face it, if we're optimistic-realistic, we can expect the number of people who do more than just put the recycling out & switch light bulbs off to go from 4% to 9% over the next 40 years. So any change would have to be government led.

I think because `lots of humans` ( as opposed to other animals on the planet ?) just have not be given any uniform information about global warming. One scientist tells us one thing, another contradicts it and yet a third tells us that both of the others are wrong. It is time for them to make up their minds exactly how serious the situation really is, and then all countries and their peoples must collectively try to reverse the situation as soon as possible. People must be made to act, not to procrastinate.

Many do not know how to do something or just do not have the resourses. Plus it is not like governments and oil, and other major companies are encouraging consumers to be more evrionmentaly freindly, because it means to much change and possibly loss of profits. There has been many examples of environmentaly freindly laws that have been shot down due to politics. Also many biulding codes prevent people from building more natual green homes with local resources, although it is becoming more popular.

People love to talk and never act. I think you`re a perfect example, most likely. If I`m wrong, I apologize, but I would imagine that anyone with a computer isn`t out living in the woods with no technology. You probablly have a car or else take a bus all of the time. You probablly contribute to the problem just as much as anyone else and yet you are complaining instead of doing something about it. I won`t deny that I contribute to the problem, I`m assuming you contribute to it too.

President Bush and his followers do not feel this is happening or don't care because they won't be around for it. I really hope America wakes up to this reality and begins to act radically to slow it down. Actually I hope the whole world, including America, China and India (the biggest abusers) wake up quick. It does take laws to force businesses to cease on toxic waste and emissions, and to force manufacturers to build environmentally friendly products. Some have started, ex: the hybrid cars, the electric cars, but it's not enough. We have to get working down to recycling, refusing to use unfriendly products, and push our legislators to make laws to stop the global warming.
