that sounds like the levels that he was able to solve problems on, in those subjects.
That is, he could solve problems in probability at level 6b (not 5a? was there a mistake in the scoring? If so, you could discuss this with the school.)
He could solve problems in area at level 5a and he could solve problems in algebra at level 5b.

Or do you want to know where you can get help to improve these scores?
