I don't see how to remove any more parts that the bottom tray/cover thing. The machine now only makes a bad noise.

Do you smell burning rubber? If so, You probably burned up the belt. You'll need to get a new one, do a search for "your vacuum manual" and it will tell you how to change and check the belt, you usually need to pry a piece off with a flathead screwdriver.

If not, just pull out whatever is obstructing the beater bar, pull slowly but firmly so you don't rip it. Make sure nothing else is tangled in there.

Edit: It goes without saying that you should turn the vacuum off before trying the above.

OOOOPS. Do not turn the machine on. If you have too, take the curtain down and take the vacume to a shop.

Don't fret! lay your vacume cleaner down and carefully open it, make sure the dirt doesn't come out, and pull out the curtains. If dirt DOES come out, vacume it back up, and next time be carefull.
