What is right for some people may not be right for you. When people are happy in a coupling, they think it's so great that everyone should be in a relationship too. Just tell them when you want it, you'll go for it. In the meantime you are happy where you are.

They have found something or someone that makes them feel exceptional and want you to experience the same euphoria and happiness they are feeling. I was single for a number of years & didn't marry until my 30's and can imagine how you feel. Yes. Sometimes it does hurt a little, everyone wants to have a special person in their life. I did. No, they don't realize how it hurts, because they are wrapped up in their own ecstatic state. Let them know how much you are enjoying life and being single right now. Most of all be patient, someone will come along when you least expect it, sweep you off your feet and take you to higher places than you can imagine. Take care and enjoy being you.

Perhaps they believe you would be more comfortable with a date or someone, rather than be alone when you are around "them". Or they just might feel that you might make a move on one of their dates. Most "couples" prefer to associate with the same (couples) and may feel awkward or don't really know how to entertain you if say for instance, they start to get intimate with their partner and you are by yourself. You might want to spend some time with other singles sometimes, you might just find out that you really don't need to go around this group so often.

remind them of the old saying 'misery loves company' and that they should not try to drag you down with them. if you are happy being single, i say GOOD FOR YOU because i am married and sometimes i wish i werent so i could have more fun. when someone says somehting like that just tell them that you are happy with your life and dont feel the need to leech off someone else's emotions.

Because they just want to see you happy. Plus, in a group of couples, if you had somebody, you could join them on double dates or whatever.
