To be honest it doesn't matter and reputable doctors pay no attention. Patients will often say "I didnt shave my legs today" but the exam is less than one minute and most doctors couldn't tell you who shaved their legs and who didn't. Sometimes if you are having certain types of surgery the physician will shave the affected area but for a normal pelvic exam it doesnt matter.
There is no way to "relax" especially if it is your first appointment. The most important thing is that you develop a solid relationship with your doctor, meaning that you feel comfortable talking about whatever you need too.
Anxiety is a normal particularly if it is your first exam but you don't need to do anything special. If you shave then shave, if you don't don't.

Going to the OB/GYN is not as bad as you think. The doctor will only be down there for a minute or so. The hair doesn't matter. I have very little to no hair down there, but that's just because it's a personal choice and I wear it like that all year round. They won't judge, they don't care, they've seen it all.
The doc is going to do a breast cancer check, scrap your uterus to check for cancer (barely feel that), and feel for any abnormalities (sticks a finger or two in and press down on your abdomen). The rest is just talking.
Don't worry, because if you're too stressed you'll be tense and it will make it worse. Breathe and treat yourself when you're done for being a good and healthy woman! It's not as bad as you think. Make sure your doctor knows that it is your first time and he or she will talk you through it.

I many times choose short hair on adult adult males. I in no way used to love long hair, yet i think of it is only simply by fact maximum adult adult males with long hair do not save it nicely groomed. in basic terms adult adult males with particular facial structures can carry off long hair with out looking effeminate. If it somewhat suits a guy and he retains it tidy nevertheless, then long hair can look inventive and a sprint mysterious. darkish, immediately hair by some ability seems extra maculine than blond or curly. On a female, i like long hair. I definitely tend to be attracted to darkish hair too, yet i'm not so fussy approximately hair colour on women individuals! i like it to be organic... not layered or dyed, yet in solid situation. a sprint wild consistent with probability. LOL Ah, American soccer. I save seeing human beings at right here point out super Bowl, and that i've got had no theory what that's!

They've seen it all; from completely bald as a baby to so hairy they have to tuck it out of the way to get to what they need to examine. Don't worry about yours.
Personal trim preference has no bearing on what a doctor feels. You trim your gentalia because YOU like it that way, not because of how a doctor may feel. They see you once a year; you have to live with it 365.

Hair type - or lack, thereof, does not matter. You will be fine. Remember to BREATHE. The doc will explain everything that's being done, as it occurs. You'll be surprised at what a breeze it is. Anf remember the old saying: "you can never be too rich or too far down on the table!" Be well.

They dont care what you hair is like down there. I am sure they appreciate for you to be clean though. Dont be worried! It is just a routine exam. The docs do it all the time and will do their best to make you feel at ease! Just do whatever makes you most comfortable with your hair.

I could not tell you what kind of hair cut they prefer because I have always wondered that myself, but you should know that the test is terrible invasive, but necassary and not at all painful. I would suggest you go clean, very clean, and definately wear socks, thick socks, because that will be the only thing you are allowed to wear and your feet will be FREEZING! Good luck and good health!

A Gyn does not care what it looks like as long as you're clean.
Don't be silly! :)
I started going at 19 and that question never even occurred to me.

trust me, they don't care about hair. it's not like they are dealing with the outside area.
it depends what you want them to do. they will do a vaginal exam and a swab to check under a microscope to make sure all the cells are healthy. they might also do a check for stds.
they will put a speculum inside you and open it up so they can see inside...it's uncomfortable at first, but breathe and it's over before you know it. relax, maybe bring music if that will help.
