I had the original Gameboy as a child, I was looking at a buying a Gameboy Color sytem and wondered do the original (black,white and grey) games work on the Gameboy Color System? Thanks. :)

Original Game Boy games will work on Game Boy Pocket, Game Boy Color, Game Boy Advance, and Game Boy Advance SP. Original Game Boy games will only NOT work on Nintendo DS.

Nintendo has been very good with backwards compatability. All old game boy games work on every system up from that. You could get any gameboy system and play a game from any prior system on it as well. So the DS plays GBA, GBC, and GB games, and they all work down from there in that order.

Yes, the SP is completely reverse compatable with the original Gameboy games

Yes, they do. I used to have one and play alot of my old Gameboy games. If you plan on getting one, make sure you get Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, one of my faves. And also get the oldschool Mario.

do not listen to the others. true it works on all gameboys except the ds. trust me i have tried it.

Yes they do. The even work on the advance and ds systems as well.
