which planet has the smallest orbit? (Including pluto even though its not a planet anymore.)

Mercury...its closest to the sun so it takes the shortest time to get around it. it takes about three months, where as pluto takes about 250 years!!!!

The smallest orbit planet is Mercury. It only takes 89 days for it to orbit the Sun and is heated to 470 degrees celsius.

Think about your question for a moment. The smallest orbit would be for the planet closest to the sun, right? Common sense, right? So which planet is closest to the sun - you can answer your own question.

Mercury because it is closest to the sun it has the shortest distance to travel to complete an orbit
