Many are quick to judge questions asked out of love and concern for pets. Mostly falsely judged by ignorance on the part of the answerer. Asking general questions doesn't make one a BYB. Quite the contrary=I don't have time to breed because I'm busy rescuing dying, neglected and wounded pets that need a human hand. So...with that being said, all you judgemental trainers and professional breeders BACK OFF! You're making money off what you call 'mutts' and I'm spending money to save thier lives so they have the chance to be taught. All animals are loving souls and a 'mutt' is a name given by one who has no empathy, concern, or tenderness for animals in general. I think alot of you judgemental trainers and professional breeders need to be put on a heart transplant list since you are walking around with a defective one!

BYB refers to back yard breeders and many of us are accused of being one when in actuality we are rescuing injured, battered and dying animals. We then come here to ask a question regarding caring for these loving souls and get violently called BYB's and put down. I only know to love an animal, not necessarily how to help deliver her babies if she's having trouble.

Have NO CLUE what you are talking about. As a GOOD breeder, I do NOT breed MUTTS.
I also work as a Vet Tech at a shelter, cleaning up the messes BYB make. In all the years placing dogs in my shelter, I have never placed a dog that had come from a GOOD breeder.
IF you do not know what you are doing, even when whelping a RESCUE dog, and you are seeking medical, breeding,or whelping question here, you are something. Maybe not a BYB, but something.
I see DAILY at several shelters what becomes of mistakes made by "rescuers", "do-gooders" and the like.
You rescue a pregnant dog, you should be at the vet ASAP! You rescus ANY dog off the street or other situation, and your first stop should be the VET.
Many people who "rescue" do not do that. They get some self-esteem boost to take in and "help" wayward animals. HOWEVER, they rarely seek the proper medical and other professional help. That is how many become "collectors". They get to the point where no home can be as good for the animal as theirs. Soon things are out of control.
Well judging from many of your other questions, you do not have a clue. You are on here asking when a bit ches milk will dry up, is there a tampon for dogs, and how close to delivering is the dog.
These are common BYB questions.
MAYBE you did pick these dogs up on the street, but you could have gotten them right in for a spay and avoided the whole issue. If you do not have simple breeding and whelping knowledge, you should not be "in rescue". That is the bottom line.

under no circumstances met a vet who pronounced, "whats up you there...i imagine you should reproduce your canines" if you're extra in touch about your dogs and their pups than many BYB's...certain i'd nevertheless positioned you in that classification. the female should be shown. Being an astounding actual specimen is tremendous, yet when she wouldn't have the right temperament, and also you pronounced she did not, she should not be bred both. What were their eyes and hip ratings? Oh...wait...you bred a a million year previous and a 20 month previous? Yeah...umm sorry accountable breeders received't breed a bltch or canines less than the age of two and over the age of 6. The genetic testing typically isn't carried out till age 2 as well. it isn't precise to examine hips till that age. One former instruct judges opinion is tremendous...although that is why to get a Ch a canines is put in the front of many various judges. you assert the canines develop into shown...yet how did he have a Ch at a million year previous?

The solution would be: add details to your questions. IF you ask a question about dog pregnancy, then explain (in your original question) it is a foster dog you took in already pregnant, you will get more helpful & less judgemental answers. Voila!
In case you have not noticed, many BYBS ask breeding questions here, so people kind of get a hair trigger - details will save everyone the grief.
By the way - why does the rescue group you work with not have the people & support to answer most of your questions?

I have no clue what you are all torn up about, but there are 3 male dogs in this house. A Greyhound (from rescue), a Great Dane (scheduled for destruction by the breeder because his markings were not "show quality") and an Irish Wolfhound. They are all loved, pampered, catered to and generally over-indulged. Their names, in order listed, are Mutt, Pup, and Grump. I'd happily tell you where to put your 'lack of empathy' and 'defective heart' garbage, but if you complied with that instruction you'd not be able to sit at your computer and spout such drivel.

Amen.
I work in animal rescue too, and can never understand the hostility some breeder types on here have towards "mutts." Some of them also are very rude to questioners and speak about
dogs in very rough and unsympathetic ways. I could name one particularly nasty answerer, but anyone who spends time in the dogs category will know who I mean. Hint: lots of capitalizations, exclamation points and rude insults.

there would not be any "mutts" if it were not for the damn "back yard breeders". we would not have the problem of over populated animals and so many animals that need to be saved if it were not for back yard breeders, so why dont u BACK OFF. u may be doing a great thing by saving them but why defend the people that are the problem? i have many animals that i rescued and that i breed but u dont need to get mad at the breeders. u should be mad at the people that cause the problem- THE BACK YARD BREEDERS!

well here is another thing maybe you would like to know i want to breed yorkshire terriers and maybe sell some of them. well i love the puppies and will sell them high. but I will make sure that when i do this i will check the buyers out very well. they willhave to pass my test and questionaires about what and where and how they are taking care of this dog. because mine willb e just like family and raised like that till they are sold. I am only going to have several litters and then move on. if i have some extra with me fine i will have them i love that type of dog and would love to have some that really want one get one. they are lovely little dogs and they talk so much they are so cute and loveable if they are taken care of.
