arisen on the subject to stir the mind. Your comments would be appreciated.
Now. One answer basically was it should not be done for the sake of decency.
Question.
1. If it becomes legal would it be considered indecent?
We have to consider what the Feminist would make out of it.
If it is legal and indency is cried, would that be construed as discrimination?

Question
2. Another answer stated it is painful to go around with no bra. Now, I do not have any blessed chestacles so I could not vouche for the pain.
But. There are thousands of african women topless and it does not seem to bother them.
Course, with a lot of the african women it brings a new meaning for pancakes for breakfast.
Which bring another subject. If the american woman would go commando up top as the african women do, could they be nicknamed as, a pair of flats.
&, then men would have fun with, can I fix your flats for ya.

Is it actually that painful to go topless??

Susie you make sense.
The flat part was not a joke. Al though, must admit it was rather funny.
Come on Suzie, tell me you didn't laugh.
It would very well happen if women going topless became the norm.

Women are allowed to go topless in Canada. Breasts are merely parts of the female anatomy that is used to feed babies. Men go topless so why shouldn't women. Just because men have fetishized breasts it doesn't mean that they are sexual objects. However a lot of men do not choose to go topless either for their own personal reason and I think that would be the case for women as well since there seem to be so many men that can't control their behaviour. What's more there are even more that act completely immature and juvenile when it comes to any talk of the anatomy.

Well if you think about that women are doing that already in the West by going out showing half their chests off to strange men. No I wouldn't do it because I'm a Muslim woman and have more common sense and don't want to degrade myself like that. Yes it would be indecent. No it is not painful. Would you rather go around without a bra and have men stalking you for 10 blocks to try to rape you? I don't think so.

Then all women would go topless and I can't wait to see the expression on your face when the little old ladies are standing next to you in line at the bank waiting for a teller. I know you are thinking "TOO MUCH INFORMATION" right now, haha! Deidre O got it right on the money when she wrote :"Just because men have fetishized breasts it doesn't mean that they are sexual objects..." , and Heathen's reply is also good: "Get over your pubescent fixations....".You Americans are soooo childishly obcessed with sex: the Europeans find you people downright ridiculous. I don't even know you and I can tell immediately that you are a young American male: YOU are a cliche!

Let's assume your question is not farsical. The best reason for women not to bare their breasts is the same reason men do not bare their testicles. Protection. Our breasts are made to feed our children, and should be protected against damage from the weather, flying debris, and male groping. I went topless one day when my husband and I were camping, just for the experience. (We were in back-country in Colorado - no spectators.) I got a terrible sun-burn on my nipples, several painful scratches from tree branches and other plants, and insect bites. Can you imagine getting your breast caught in the subway doors, or being chafed by all of the different materials that you would inevitably rub against during the course of the day? All decency aside, it would be impractical.

As far as the decency issue goes, since when did social policy become the authority on morality? Being legal does not mean it's decent.

The ladies in Africa all weigh 80 lbs and wear a child's size 12
the average woman here is a size 14 and weighs 130 to 150 lbs.
It does hurt to go without support
In my teens I still wouldn't go public without a top it stirs the brain of the human male and if I was in public I might not want to attract that attention. I might just want to buy some shoes.
As for the can I fix your flat joke....You would be one of the reasons I would not go topless. Its a maturity thing and yours might be showing.

I certainly wouldn't go topless in early February!!

Seriously, though, I'm pretty much a nudist, and I don't get the fascination with womens' breasts.

I breastfeed my infant daughter, and quite frankly, it's much more comfy to breastfeed without a shirt/nursing bra. If it were socially acceptable, I probably WOULD breastfeed topless in public. But I'd also cover up when I'm done. Nursing boobies are HEAVY boobies.

Oh wouldn't the men think that was just great. In reality I think the vast majority of women who would actually do that would be either radical dykes or bimbos with implants. No offense to the women who long to expose their bare boobs to total strangers, but I just don't believe the majority of average heterosexual women want to do that. Of course it's culturally conditioned but I don't think our culture will change that easily. Especially because most of us find it degrading to have our body parts scrutinized and joked about.

I wouldnt want women to go topless, cause there would be nothing left for the imagination.....eventually it would become "normal" like wearing shorts or a sleeveless shirt and showing your arms. There is nothing more exciting than slowly slipping off a women's bra while u kiss her on the neck and gently touch her breasts.....hmm

hell yes I would..there is nothing shameful or indecent about having breasts. They have nothing to do with sex (sex=penis+vagina)

Society has unfortunately sexualized breasts and have made women feel like we have something to hide..literally. I don't think the female chest is any more inappropriate than the male chest. Grow up America

In the beginning of time, we were all naked. However in today's advanced society it would cause alot of car accidents, masturbation on the streets, and a whole lot of harassment. Unless we go back to the basics and live in a secluded forest, I'd say yes ^_^.
