HOPE....people who get married want to believe in the "happily ever after"
There is nothing wrong with getting married, forming a family network of our own. Committing yourself to the person you want to share your life with. My husband is my family, he is no different then my parents or siblings, he is part of my life.
Marriage is not easy...... but it is fantastic!

well because people love each other and they want to have a family i mean you can do all of that without getting married but if you find the right person it makes the two of you feel closer theres a lot of different reasons why you would get married it just depends on you

four years ago after my second married fell apart i would have said i don't know . maybe because how do we know what love is well we don't but then we find someone who really fills all the gaps you then realise what love really is and don't want to get married just because its the done thing which i feel most people do myself included .you want to get married because you love this person and never want to spend a day apart .what a am trying to say is getting married is committing to someone one hundred percent.

Some company pension schemes only recognise marriages and they will only pay to partners "at their discretion". I always advise people to check out this little detail.
If I was young nowadays I wouldn't bother. It's only a piece of paper. For older people it can still be a big thing though.

Although I agree with the above comments, I also believe that it is a reinforcement of monogamy. Monogamy was promoted many centuries ago as a means of preventing the pandemic infection of contagious diseases. It is also the reason why men and women shave, as body hair can retain millions of infectious bacteria. Shaving therefore makes someone appear more hygienic. Therefore a clean shaved monogamist is the safest way of not getting infected, short of celibacy.

i did out of a moment of jealousy. we broke up for three weeks after a three year relationship and when he asked me to marry him because this might be the last chance (during one of our meetings in exchanging our child) i found out he was seeing this other girl ( my ex friend) and i jumped the gun and said yes. we had a real cheesey wedding ceremony ( my first by the way) in our street clothes at his sober living home with the only witness beging our daughter. then after i left he called the other girl and continued to .....welll anyways, it was a HUGE mistake and reason to marry.

People get married because then are lonely and they want to spend the rest of there life with someone they love. you also need to know there is someone out there for everybody, someday i will be your turn and you'll find that special Pearson! I hope that answers your question!!!

They're too scared at the prospect of making it on their own, not realizing that the ability for both men and women to be completely independent has made marriage obsolete.

These days I think it's more to do with financial security. If your boyfriend died you would have less rights than if your husband died.
The reason I want to get married is to wear a big dress and have a party.
