User name problem?

By default the username on my Alienware laptop is "your user name" and that is the main user so I can't get rid of it, apart from creating a new user, is there anyway I can change this name?

go to control panel, select user accounts, select the account, click change account, select change name

Yes, there is a very simple way to do this.

Go to the start menu and select 'run'.
In the box that appears type 'control userpasswords2' without the single quotes.

Here you will see a window listing all users, including some you may have never knew existed (Don't delete them).

For the username you would like to change the name of, click on the username and then click properties which is right underneath it.

There you can change the name to anything you wish!
Just to warn you though, the folder name does NOT change in the Documents and Settings folder!

If you are on XP, go to Control Panel | Administrative Tools | Computer Management.
Go to Local Users and Groups
Right-click on the account name and choose Rename.

You can also go to Control Panel - User accounts and do the same thing.

go into the control panel to user accounts and click on that account... first choice is change user name

Is this the BIOS password? If so reset the BIOS to its default state, by removing the BIOS battery, for about 30 seconds, then replace it. You can then open the BIOS and reset the password to whatever you wish.
