Buy North American! The job you save could be your own! Assembled in North America is not the same thing.
Keep the profits in the country that that you hope will look after and you and your family the best.
Besides, if you are buying new, they all have warranties.
Don’t believe all the “Only buy Japanese” hype(BS).

I've owned every manufacturer's car including Ford, GM, Chrysler, Toyota, Hyundai, and Nissan. All the modern fuel injected cars are much more reliable than the cars produced up through the mid 1980s, and every manufacturer has one car or another that owners have had good experience with. But if I had to choose a new car today for less than $25,000, I'd have to go with Toyota, simply because the overall company seems to be managed and running better than other competitive companies in that price range.

First define foreign as opposed to American cars. Do you mean the American made Toyota as opposed to the Chevrolet 1500 pickup made in Canada?
Or maybe you are talking about the Honda? Both the Accord and the Civic are built in Marysville, Ohio.
This is getting way too confusing, let's talk about an American Company, like Ford, okay?
A few years ago Ford was actually 'importing' the Crown Victoria just so they could meet their CAFE (Corporate Average Fuel Economy) requirements. The imported fleet is considered separate from the domestic one. Therefore, putting the Crown Vic in the import fleet made it easier to pass. You see, then the Festiva was also considered an import. The new Aspire is still an import from Korea. The Aspire/Festiva with its' high mileage ratings averaged out the low mileage Crown Vic.
Matter of taste. Find what meets your needs and buy it.
You said you like Chevy. Good choice for a foreign car. Chevy builds the Camaro and Firebird in Canada.
Want to get into Chrysler then?
Chrysler has a plant in Canada to build minivans and another to build LH sedans. Chrysler also has two plants in Mexico: one to produce Ram pickups the other to build Dodge Neons.
Ford?
Ford has a plant in Mexico to produce Escorts, the list goes on and on.

With car manufacturers going global and becoming huge corporations that have huge overhead and are greedy for maximum profits to make yacht and breast implant payments, the consumer loses by buying an inferior product that even the CEO's wouldn't let their own housekeepers drive. It doesn't really matter what you buy, it's junk after the warranty runs out anyway. Oh - i like Chrysler - built slightly sturdier than GM or Ford.

THE ONLY THING THE DOMESTIC DO BETTER IN IS THERE PRICING UPFRONT. BUT THE DOMESTICS LOOSE ON THE BACK END--RESALE. THE DOMESTIC HAVE SOME NICHE MARKETS THAT THE IMPORTS ARE NOT IN LIKE CAMARO AND TRANS-AM FOR GM MUSTANG FOR FORD AND CHARGER FOR DAIMLER CHRYSLER. OVERALL QUALITY AND REFINEMENT THE DOMESTIC LOOSE BIG ---FEW EXCEPTIONS--CORVETTE, MUSTANG--AMERICAN ICONS. AS EXAMPLE I WAS AT FORD THE OTHER --NEW FUSION SITTING THERE COULDN'T FIX HAD 255 MILES ON IT HAD GIVE CUSTOMER BRAND NEW ONE OUT OF THE LOT. THE FOREIGN CARS ARE GOING TO GIVE YOU MORE IN RETURN FOR YOUR MONEY OVER LONG RUN. READ CONSUMER REPORTS AND THEY WILL LAY IT OUT FOR YOU.

I prefer the Camry over the Honda Accord, ONLY because around here, in Orange County, Ca., the Hondas are quite popular with the local thieves. Both are fine cars, but don't forget maintenance.

I like foreign cars because they have been making quality, long lasting engines longer than the U.S. Foreign cars pack more horsepower in their engines than american cars that have a higher miles per gallon. The foreign car engines last longer and the cars keep a higher resale value.
Pickups on they other hand, american all the way.
