We are creatures of habit, and whether it is drug use or abuse people follow the same patterns they are familiar with. The only way to break these cycles are . . . well I don't know.

It turns out that your character and personality follow a law that we thought existed only in the physical world. Physics tells us that a body in motion tends to stay in motion, unless acted upon by some external force. Newton's first law of motion, the law of inertia, applies just as much to you and your character as it does to a meteor in space.
Physics also tells us the more mass an object has, the more force is required to move it (or change its course). In that sense, we are beings with a lot of “mass” that make up our character and personality. Each of us is a lot “bigger” than we realize.
Change comes about when you make a decision that forces you to veer off of your current path, and into a new one. An event which changes you must be a big force in order to alter your course. Sometimes external events, like a parent’s death or graduating from college, can enact change. But the most effective, satisfying, and lasting change is the change that comes from using your will to change our personality and character. The stronger your will, the more effective you are.
That is, of course, unless you choose to express your will as stubbornness. Newton’s first law also tells us that an object at rest tends to stay at rest. If you are stubborn and do not want to change, so be it, and good luck.

not hard ...people change in one day if they find the love of their life ,or when a catastrofe happens or when they get a baby or can be sweeter when they talk to a good looking person or when they earn a lot of money....the only thing that doesnt change is change.

People do not change. They adapt to new circumstances. They make choices, but basically, they remain the same.

Mix in a bit of truth with "no you can't change" and it becomes confusing....
Who you are doesn't change (truth), who you are is beyond words or roles.
I once believed who I was, was some kind of evil role (false).

Budha once said that the hardest thing to change in your life (or this world) was yourself.
