For example, this "Republican strategist" on MSNBC was trying to convince everyone that Gore did nothing for the environment, but Bush has and finally he is raisnig the question. I think global warming finally came to light under our current administration because the White House was pressuring government scientists to change crucial wording on reports about climatic change.

I really wish Yahoo Answers was more than "ask a question / answer a question". We could have fun with this one. Let's start with a few quotes: "One way or the other, we are determined to deny Iraq the capacity to develop weapons of mass destruction and the missiles to deliver them. That is our bottom line." President Clinton, Feb. 4, 1998. "He will use those weapons of mass destruction again, as he has ten times since 1983." Sandy Berger, Clinton National Security Adviser, Feb, 18, 1998 "We have known for many years that Saddam Hussein is useing and developing weapons of mass destruction." Sen. Ted Kennedy (D, MA), Sept. 27, 2002. ... and finally.... "I will be voting to give the President of the United States the authority to use force — if necessary — to disarm Saddam Hussein because I believe that a deadly arsenal of weapons of mass destruction in his hands is a real and grave threat to our security." Sen. John F. Kerry (D, MA), Oct. 9, 2002.

Does it really matter if its from the rightist or leftist machines? Propaganda is what politics have morphed into. I get sick of the polarization and lies (from both sides) from the politicians.

What I don't understand is why were are trying to push certain laws and regulations in order to reduce global warming. We focus on cars, industry and power plants to try and curb the uses of fossil fuels. While this is a good start, NO ONE is trying to clamp down on the release of Methane gas into the atmosphere. Methane gas apparently is far worse for the atmosphere than other gases. The largest producer of Methane gas that is released into the atmosphere if rice cultivation and production.

We have not invested enough money (private and public) to research the issue. No one talks about what Humans do to cause global cooling, because all the effort is spent on global warming. When will Americans just get fed up with the politicization of this issue and demand that we study, understand and help fix the problem?

whether i do or not is immaterial.i'm not going to give up my car,A/C,furnace.
do you recycle anything? bet not.it takes energy to produce all those bottles of water you drink.
are you going to give up anything to decrease the rate? bet not.
so what if humans are the cause of global warming, which i doubt,
what is to be done?you don't like genocide, war, disease or pestilence.murder is not nice unless it's the unborn.
the chinese and indians are reproducing fast enough to cover that
little problem.

yes, they do expect people to believe them. and being that he is in his second term, people did. then they complain that they've been misled by this president and his cabinet, but they have no one to blame but themselves for not doing basic research into the candidates they vote for. i mean seriously, how did this guy get voted in a second time. people are dumb.
