You know I doubt you need a doctor, I doubt you are mentally unwell. Sometimes we do just feel an overwhelming sadness, perhaps it is an accumulation of small sadnesses along the way in life's path that have risen inside you now that life for you is settled and comfotrable, little sadnesses you didnt have the time or energy to deal with when they first arose. Perhaps you have a very empathic nature and you have been hearing and or seeing a lot of world news and discussing things of a sad nature..And perhaps you simply had a very sad dream. The human imagination is a very powerful thing.,
When any emotion arises the best course of action I have found is to name it and claim it.... simply say I feel sad.... and accept that for now you are sad...
If this deep sadness is an ongoing part of your life and hangs around for longer than a few weeks then see a counsellor who will be able to help you find some strategies that work for you to dispell the feelings...
If the counsellor thinks you need medication they will refer you on to the right doctor..

Darren ... It's the most horrible thing I can imagine, and it happened to you and your family. When the shock begins to wear off, you'll wonder if you can stand the pain, you'll wonder how long it will be before it stops hurting so much. You'll ask people, and no one will be able to answer you. In my own experience - and that of many others I've spoken to - when you're at your lowest, you find strength in having family close, and in distracting yourself by being busy. The times when it hits the worst - when you're alone, before falling asleep - you MUST feel it. This is the love you have for your daughter, crying out. You feel it, and you'll understand that it won't kill you, you won't die from it. You'll cry your eyes dry, and afterwards cry some more, and there will be a peace at the end. It won't be a peace you can understand, but it's there. Until the next time. Don't be afraid of the pain - it's something you have to endure, for the rest of your life; and you can endure it. As time goes by, you get used to it being there, it becomes a part of you. It never goes away. You'll always feel it there, and there's a reason for that. Part of your future is gone. You'll memorialize Kyley with your life from now on ... she was, and will always be your daughter, the wonderful person everyone loved. Donate in her name, plant a tree in her name -- whatever you do to remember her, she won't be forgotten because she LIVED, she made a difference in the world. But now, all I can tell you is to cry out, feel your loss, as it's the worst that most parents can imagine. There's nothing more you can do right now, in your darkest hour, but you're strong, and you'll get through this.

Depression is a chemical imbalance
Dark sadness is like when your dad dies and you are alone.
Sounds like you could have need of a visit to the Dr.(if it lasts more than 2 weeks... or you feel suicidal)
have a chemical imbalance.. I felt like you for 6 years. As soon as I got a drivers license I took myself to the Dr. and he sent my parents the bill.
I am fine now, I take a time-released capsule each day!
life is good!

The thinking of why why why this worry afecting me is the main worry. First cut that then look inside where is worry, who is worry self enquary is the first solution. Dont Ask Why at that time. Ask Who? and try it for me atleast.

It's natural empathizing, and as it is accepted with awareness, it is transcended.
