The ancestry of people in this country is varied and more than likely made up of a portion of most all of the kinds of people that exist. The reasons are numerous. Some came as conquerors, for this land was wild and assumed uninhabited. To others a place to colonize. Some people wanted religious freedom ,others saw the possibility of a better life and financial prosperity. The persecuted wanted just laws and protection, a country were the people could make there own laws, all kinds and nationalities immigrated, some were even brought here to be slaves. There is such diversity in our country it is impossible to say that any one ethnic group is any better or worse than any other. Lastly let it be known that the real Filipinos at the beginning where already here.

If there's no Philippines or the Filipinos, Ferdinand Magellan wouldn't have died in the hands of the the Philippines' first national hero, Lapu-lapu, a descendant of the Malay race. He would have died somewhere else. Secondly, Spain would have lost to Portugal when the two countries are considered superpowers at that time. Ex. Portugal had ruled Malacca at that time, thus, ruled the spice war. Without Philkippine, as well as Mexico, to milk dry it's natural resources, Spain would have been bankrupt during the olden days.
Philippines also served as a base for the Americans after WW2 which is very important post-war to check the balance of power. The Philippines is also strategically located which makes it important to the Allied forces, during and after the war.
Philippines is also one of the closest allies of the Americans.
Hope this help.

Filipinos are not part of Africa and are not descendants of Negritos. Filipinos descended from the Malay race but were separated from the rest of the neigboring asian countries like Indonesia,Malaysia and so on when the ice bridge that connected these lands melted billions of years ago. Some Malays were able to cross the bridge and some weren't. That's why if you take a closer look, Filipinos, Malaysian and Indonesian look alike. There are even some full fledge Filipinos who are Chinese looking...Taiwan is located just above the Philippines.

If there are no Philipinos and the Philippines, then Guam will be standing in your place in history.
The Philippines is straegically located for bot hthe Japs and Allies during WW2, it is also like the gateway into South East Asia and Pacific Ocean vie versa.
The world will not miss out much if the people are not around, minus the people the islands wil be filled with Malaysa, Chinese, Japs etc...so will have to hypothetically erase the Philippines out of the map and look at Guam as the next staging post.

Venomous, such a fitting name.
Lived in the jungle like monkeys? Prior to the "discovery" of the islands, the communities are ruled not only by men but by women as well, similar to Queen Victoria in the United Kingdom.
If the Philippine-trained nurses are incompetent, why do the hospitals in other countries keep on hiring them?
Mail-order brides? Besides the people already mentioned by other respondents, ever heard of Carlos P. Romulo? He is the first Asian to be the President of the United Nations.
"Let me say I lived their" Man! Your spelling sure need a lot to be desired.

First of all let me correct your assumption. Labor in America is not cheap, regardless of who is providing it.
If there were no Filipino people the world would lose the most perfect physical specimen in the worlds gene pool. There are very few obese Filipinos and I think no ugly ones either. I never saw one with an odd body shape and their hair is magnificent.

excuse me, mr./ms. venumous. Antonio de Morga (I don't know if you have knowledge of him) a spanish historian has first written about the Philippines in 16th century. Long before the spanish came to the our country, we already had our system of government, system of writing, and we've been trading with our neighboring countries, like China, India to the farthest Saudi Arabia. The government is headed by a Datu (chieftain) in the form of Baranggay, there are counsel of elders who help the datu specifically in creating laws. And mind you, even during those times, gender equality exists in our country because a babaylan (lady priest) has a significant responsibility in the Baranggays, unlike in the US where women only had their political rights in 1940s. Isn't that odd? Please don't show us your ignorance. Read and read and read more and have your brain some fill. It's empty, I guess.
