Every coin has two sides, as demonstrated by the previous answers! Of course, things are rarely black-and-white but i tend towards the hypocrisy view. Any manager should feel confident in explaining their actions to subordinates. If they cannot or will not, they do not belong in a job which seeks to influence the good bahavior of others.
