That's a really good question because I've been looking for a new Wiimote for 2 months. Let's take a comprehensive look at what is out there:
Circuitcity.com -- Not available online, only in the store.
Bestbuy.com -- Sold out, and store pickup will be "available soon."
Compusa.com -- "Coming Soon." Uh... yeah.
Amazon.com -- "Used & New from $44.78." Not there.
Target.com -- Not to be found. And their search engine is horrid.
Toysrus.com -- Currently not available online. Hrmph!
Gamestop.com -- Doesn't exist! (see also: ebgames.com)
Kmart.com, Walmart.com, Shopko.com -- A what?
Sears.com -- Currently out of stock.
*sigh* This is getting out of hand. So finally, I'll venture over to Nintendo.com and click the link on the right-hand side of the page titled "Online Store." I choose "Parts and Accessories," select the Wii, and towards the bottom of the list is a Wii remote for 39.99. Interesting. I put one in my shopping cart and go to checkout. I'm not being told that it's out of stock. Very interesting.
I'd recommend calling them at 1-800-255-3700. You should be able to not only order one from them (you'll also pay for shipping, but maybe not sales tax depending upon local laws), but you'll be told whether they have them in stock or if they're out of stock. If Nintendo doesn't have them, nobody does. If they do have them and you order it directly from them, you'll receive quick shipping and great service. I've always been treated well whenever I've dealt with them, so give it a try!
