madden 07 progression?

how does progression work?
my rookie rb had an 85 ovr. after the first few games he went up to an 87, but later in the year, as his stats got better (about 110 ypg and a TD or 2), he still is an 87. why?

its in franchise mode. but do they still progress in practice in franchise mode? i thought that practice was just meant for you to perfect plays.

it depends on your stats in pratice the team you r with and the stats in the game and your media goals and agent
