i own a repair shop, and usually when you see this it means you have a busted heater core on it ,this is what ,makes the steam, check the coolant level and see if its starting to drop a little ,if it hasn't ,it soon will ,but you,ll have to have this replaced or you,ll loose all your coolant from it,plus it may ,make a big mess on the inside of the car also, good luck,i hope this help,s.

Sounds like the heater core is bad. You will probably also smell antifreeze (which has a sweet kind of smell to it) inside the vehicle. Usually you can disconnect the two heater hoses at the firewall and join them together with a hose connector and a couple of clamps you will avoid leaking and stop the problem until you have the heater core replaced. You won't have any heat until the hoses go back where they belong so hopefully you live in a warm climate area.

That is antifreeze you see steaming. You have a leak in your heater core cost 1700 to 2000 for repairs. Time to junk the car. You cannot drive the car the way it is. The fumes can overcome you. They will also make your windshield greasy. You may be able to have a mechanic turn off the heating system altogether and reroute the antifreeze around the heater core. You will no longer have any heat. Junk that car.

Heater core is bad, this is a small radiator located under the dash in your heater vent ducting, it takes warm water from your engine. Air blows over this, providing heated air for your defroster and heater. This also explains the smell of anti-freeze(if there is any in engine) and the fog on your windshield. Hope this helps.
