If it's a very low "Buy it Now" price then often a seller charges extortionate postage. If it's just low at the moment with no buy it now, it will probably go up in time. Check out the sellers ratings and history.

There are many scams on Ebay. When ever I buy from there make sure you check the sellers feedback. I usually dont buy from a seller if they have less than 98% feedback and if they have sold less than a 100 items. I have bought 2 xbox 360 controllers for like almost half price and they were brand new. I was really skeptical but I bought them and they came brand new and work great. Sometimes though you have to wonder how they sell some of these things for so cheap. And ofcourse if its way to good to be true then it prolly isnt. When you buy from people on ebay make sure you only use paypal and never do any outside transactions. As long as you use paypal you should be alright.

eBay is good and a fun way of getting a bargain, but it is also a good way of getting ripped off, If a product looks to be very cheap even when there only a minute or two left CHECK the postal charge , it could be very high, and is the product in China or HongKong, if so then if you have a guarantee problem you are suck as you will need to return it at high cost and then the seller overs you your money back BUT not the postal charge, if you want to buy new go to a good shop where you get a guarantee

Ebay itself is DEFINATELY genuine, and most of the sellers are..a lot of people make ebay stores and sell things at very low prices and add extras..for example I got a camcorder plus a tripod, memory card, etc, for less than the price of the camcorder..
However its true that some ebayers are out there to scam you, check the feedback!

The seller may be very trustworthy. Look at his ratings. What he wrote doesn't give any indication of anything wrong. But, decide for yourself. If you anticipate future problems with your camera, buy local. If you're willing to take a chance, buy from this guy. Personally, I'd buy something like that locally. Much easier to return or get work done.

That is what e-Bay is for - low cost items.......

Look at the seller's or buyer's feedback - that will help you know if you should trust them or not.

If they have a store setup - they are pretty much on there for the long haul.

If they have a website - look it up and read it over. Sometimes good buying takes as much work as selling!

actually a lot of bootleg/fake items on ebay. checking sellers rep only helps if people realize they bought a copy and complain about it. for example, purchased final fantasy 8 for pc, received 4 cds labeled with majic marker. obviously a fake, but cheap and working, so why complain? It's also rumored that some are selling stolen merchandise, which you can actually be arrested for buying - Caveat Emptor.

well, they maybe low cost becaues they are AUCTIONS and the prices usually get jacked up during the last day of the auction...

Like say if i list an item to start at 99 cents, and 5 days left, the price still maybe only $42, however by the time it ends, a premium xbox, brand new sealed, may end for $380...not too much savings...

EBay is genuine. They cannot check out all sellers, though. You can check the seller's approval rating for the past year. Watch out for shipping and handling charges, though.

you could trust eBay but not the sellers or buyers. the buyers might say they haven't got the item and then get there money back while keeping the item. it was on watchdog or something like that. it was all about paypal. you could just pick up and pay for it your self.
