Spanish-Hispanic-Mexican What the different?

I know spanish is the language and Mexican is the color of people from Mexico. But what is hispanic? I heard of it but is it spanish but it a longer word? Or are they another type of language? I am confuse here. I just want to know what is hispanic. I already know what spanish and mexican is.

You know that Spanish is the language and you're right. An add-on: Spanish refers also to the people from Spain.
You say that Mexican is the color: Wrong!!!! Mexican refers to the people from Mexico regardless of looks and the like.
Hispanic refers -generally- to whatever pertains to the world whose cultural roots and ties connects it to Spain and the historical development to what is today Latin America. However, in modern times it goes beyond that mostly because of migrations. Since the most notorious migration is towards the US, to facilitate things "Hispanic" is beign used to refer to persons, culture, language, etc that evolve from the presence of migrants from Latin America in US soil. Soemone could be a 4th generation UnitedStatian whose ancestors came from Granada, so that person should feel at ease if called "hispanic."
