food bowl, waterer, cedar chips or some form of bedding, a cage, they like lettuce and carrots....basically any vegetable. That's pretty much it, food, shelter, water..........Don't forget the pig, and get ready to listen to them "squeel" throughout the day.......almost forgot. DO NOT put them in direct sunlight, such as right in front of an open window. The heat from the sun will bake them since they have no shade to hide from it........

First of all, you need to do more research on guinea pigs. They're social animals that should be kept in pairs. So "getting one" today is not a good idea.
Supplies that you need:
* a cage (visit http://www.guineapigcages.com for how to build one, cheap). The cage should be at least 7.5 square feet, and 10.5 square feet is preferable for two guinea pigs.
* Water bottles and food bowls
* Bedding - not pine or cedar, both of which produce dangerous phenols which can contribute to upper respiratory infections. Aspen shavings, Carefresh, Yesterday's News, Cellsorb, or Critter Comfort are excellent choices for bedding.
* Food - Guinea pigs need a relatively complex diet. They should have an unlimited amount of grass hay, such as timothy or orchardgrass. They should have a high quality pellet such Oxbow or Mazuri. And they need 1 cup of vegetables per guinea pig, per day.
Beyond all the basics, they need a commitment. Guinea pigs will probably require at least 1 vet appointment in their life, and generally more. That can average from $40 to $500, depending on the affliction. You need to figure into this cost of keeping an animal. If you can't afford the vet, you can't afford the pet.

The guinea pig will cost around $15-$25, the cage with all the contents about $50, and the food and treats about $10.
More important though, you will need responsibility and dedication to the little critter. He will be depending on you to make sure he has food, clean water, clean cage, and safe enviornment. If you think you'll be bored of the little guy in a week, you should resist this urge.
If you think you can provide him with a good home, then have fun!

It will coast you about $100 to 150 if not a little more then that. If you go to your local Pet Smart they will be able to help you get everything you need for your Guinea. Also with Pet Smart your Guinea comes with a two week guarantee.
Things you will need:
1. Cage - such as this one http://www.petsmart.com/global/product_d...
He will never grow out of it.
2.A place for hime to hide
3.Water bottle
4.Food Dish- one you can hook to the cage since they like to tip over their bowls
3.Toy
4.Chew Sticks
5.Vit C Drops
6.Bedding - Total Comfort or Care Fresh (wood shavings are not healthy for them)
7.Guinea Pig Food- Menu is a good food
8.Timothy Hay- (alfalfa give to much energy)
9.Oranges- Seedless they get them once a day
10.The Guinea Pig - they live about 6-8 years and grow 6 to 12 inches in legnth.
You may also want to pick up some small pet nail clippers. As their nails need to be trimmed once a month.
Guinea's make wonderful pets and are very gentle.
Good Luck with finding your Guinea and hope I helped!

First of all, you will need a cage for the guinea pig, food and water dishes. A hanging water container is great. And guinnea pig food and bedding for the cage. If you go to a pet store, they will be able to help you more of the things needed. Good luck with your new pet. They are fun pets, even though I have never had one. I have had 3 pet rats in the past, which were fun for me.

You will probably need AT LEAST 150$ (not including the Guinea Pig) because you have to buy the bedding, the food, a wheel, water holder, then you will need something to cover the top of the cage so they don't get out(i know this from personal experience), and of course a cage. But every time you run out of bedding and food you will have to buy more. Also you will need to buy them something so they can chew on because there teeth will over grow if you dont buy them that they can die from there teeth over growning. Well I hope I helped!!

My kids has 4 gpigs, there so cool n funny.they develop really individual personalities. If ur from d uk then a 15kg sack of gerty gpig cost just over £15.or loose its £1.50p kg.then u gotta think about bedding and also fresh foods like spinach and celery which they love.prob cost 4 1 gpig about 20 - 25 per month depending on how much u spoil them. But bear in mind gpigs are social creatures and need company of their own kind it wont cost u double each month but really important.

you prolly want to get a cage with CEDER chips. i can't say that enough, the fumes from the other types of wood chips gave mine cancer and made it blind. be sure to change it's cage every 2 weeks, get a water supply. and a food bowl, and maybe some rodent toys, other than that, dont keep it in extreme heat or cold and you'll be fine :)
