hold the PAUSE button for a couple of seconds, once its off if u want to put the hold button. To reset it, hold the center button and the MENU button.

You could just hit the sleep button and it goes off until you hit menu.

press menu until you get to a screne that doesnt go back no more scroll down until you see the sleep button then press ok
