well first off, "Brazil" hasnt been a country for all that long. THe portuguese first accidentally ran into it when they were trying to swing wide in teh atlantic to swing around what is now called the cape of good hope. that was in about 1450-1500 CE (thats AD for you stuborn religous types). It used to have then most slaves of anywhere in the atlantic slave trade. (42 out of every 100 slaves taken from Africa bound to become part of the ATLANTIC slave trade (how they were gotten is a whole nother story for somoe other topic) went to Brazil, that a huge 42%) now it doesn't, theres a change.
