The way I see it, rock is getting suckier and old school stuff is a lot cooler.

Rock is still alive. There are new bands that really rock that are coming out all the time. They usually release about two albums before they become mainstream top 40 bands. The true rock bands will stick to their roots, but most go to the top 40 crap.

i imagine the major reason is because no band or artist at present make any track it truly is such as 1950's rock. there are a great number of bands round that you will see that a means in from the 60's and 70's yet no longer a lot the 50's. Of course its alive but as for mating ritual you could say the same of church which is even more of a place where people connect and hook up.

it started out as a teenage mating ritual, morphed into many different forms, but is still a teen mating ritual. i guess it's still alive, but is being killed by hip-hop and other musical forms
