If you are in the UK.You can go for a direct access licence, a 5 day course. You will need to take your CBT and then do your theory test. The training centre should sort out the booking for you.You will ride a 125cc for the first 2 days and then ride a 500 cc for the last 3 days and take your practical test on a 500 cc motorcycle. This will allow you to ride any size of motorcyle.Try searching the web for direct access centres in your area.I rode a 125 on a restricted licence for 2 years and then went staright onto a 1000cc. I would suggest going up in stages though.say 500 cc to 750 cc and then 1000cc and up.

Climb aboard and twist the throttle.
As for getting a motorcycle license, every state and country has different requirements. So, check with your local Department of Motor Vehicles.

It depends on what state you live in. In Calif you have to take a motorcycle safety course and pass to get your motorcycle license.

best bet is to pass the msf course. u'll get ur endorsement after passing it. there's alot more to riding a bike than meets the eye. dont even think about gettin a crotch rocket as a starter bike. get a cruiser, ride it for about 2 or 3 years, then u might be ready to handle a rocket.

you need to first do your c.b.t test which is a days training at about £80,this gives you the oppertunity to ride bikes up to 125cc,anything over this cc you will after do your theory test and motor cycle test,do a direct access course cost bout £500 a weeks course, not including your theory, this will enable you to ride any size bike ,if you past it of course, but in the meantime you can ride a 125cc on your c.b.t,and this is valid for two year, after this time you can just resit it.xx good luck

There is some right rubbish being spoken here . Chris P has got the answer exactly right. Give that man 10 points.
Karen S is bang on as well. Don't know about all these other "interplanetary" answers though.

in ma.you can take a weekend course for about $200 and if you pass, you get your motorcycle license.i would suggest that you practice on a lighter bike to practice balance.i think you can apply for a permit that lasts 1 yr. before it expires.

Florida has a learner's permit which is good for 90 days, then you either take a MSF or the highway patrol test.
