At about that time when the baby kicks, it sometimes feels like butterflies. It doesn't become prominent until about 26 to 30 weeks when the baby gets a whole lot bigger. It is very possible that your baby isn't much of a kicker. Every baby is different so come will start kicking and you can feel it quite early and some babies just don't kick and move a whole lot. Everything is fine and hang in there. Congrat's on baby

No, the "flips" feeling is the first to be felt before the hard, strong kicks. There is no hard and set time when a baby "should" kick or move, so be patient. It will come. I remember it feeling like a goldfish was swimming around in there. As the baby gets bigger, the uterine wall stretches and becomes thinner and you can feel the kicks more. The more fat you have on your abdominal wall, the fainter the kicks will feel at first.

When a baby first starts moving, it does not feel like a kick. It's more of a "flutter". There are many reason for this. It can also be described as feeling like gas bubbles.
