Please pick one...or the other. Saying "both" is the easy answer & kinda defeats the purpose of asking a question.

TO MAKE THIS MORE CLEAR: Spend a life more alone, focusing more on accumulating knowledge & wisdom of the universe...or...spend a life more in the company of others, focusing more on the relationships you have with people?

You only have so much energy to exert in life so which would you give more attention to if you had to choose?

i think that knowing one's Self is the most important because only when there are at least two genuine Selves can there be a genuine interaction. Otherwise, there are just a pair of parrots mouthing the words of other Selves. I like your question, by the way.

A most interesting question and I should think it depends on your temperament. Some people are more outwordly than others. Some people are entirely brilliant at accumaling knowledge, but find it nearly impossible to talk "pleasurably" with another human being or, indeed, develop a relationship. So both aspects are inportant and, as usual, nothing is easy. Excellent question, but the analysis is still in progress!

I would believe developing relationships with people would be better because it enables us to grow, and i feel having someone close to reason with, will eventually allow you to attain personal knowledge, so in both scenario's you win.

OK! so now i would say, attaining information about the world around us would be more important...if you see and believe there a purpose to life, and you don't want to be a follower, you wish to explore and dig into things that excites you. And if you're a materialistic person or someone who is fond of others, then you would say having personal relationships is better.

Which is more important depends on an individuals outlook which is the result of their experiences.
Personal knowledge is important to those who have very specialized interests such as doctors, nurses, lawyers, law enforcement, authors and so on.
Developing relationships is important to those who wish to marry, become good parents, and keep their jobs.

In the long run or at some point the two come together.

It`s a good question. I think You cannot separate the two, but strongly believe that acquiring personal knowledge is older of the two. Having one (some skill, craft, scientific knowledge...), working hard on Yourself can only make You feel respectfull towards other people who are doing the same.

Do you mean personal knowledge in the sense of the self, or in the sense of knowledge for the sake of knowledge? Without knowledge of the self, one cannot hope to develop meaningful or lasting relationships with others. From the self, one develops tolerance, forebearance, forgiveness, and love.

If you are speaking in terms of knowledge for the sake of knowledge, it becomes meaningless without applying it to relationships between the self and others, whether you are using the knowledge for altruistic reasons, or to advance your own position, relationships with other people is a prerequisite.

Developing relationships with people has a tendency to make you look more closely at yourself and deepen your perceptions. Being alone doesn't give you a good perspective of yourself. Knowledge should be shared as it widens and enhances your grasp of the world and gets rid of tunnel vision.

Developing personal relationship w/ people is acquiring personal knowledge, at least about that person and their experiences. The acquiring of knowledge in itself is more general, involving either educational matters, philosophical material, yourself, or anything else. Thus, I believe both criteria are essential in developing the self to its maximum.
