Microsoft live is also really cool - very similar to google earth but don't have to download it to your computer..... I think it's updated more often also.

Nope! I think I deleted my desktop icon but I can still get it from using the Start button -> programs -> Google Earth.

It's such a cool program! :-D

Could it be that someone else may have been naughty and deleted it? The swines?
