Doesn't hurt too bad. I did mine myself with a safety pin and the earring was too big for the hole so I had to push it through and it still didn't hurt that bad.

Hi, I did it when I was a teenager and YES, it hurt A LOT! I know some people say it doesn't hurt, so it must depend on the person. Mine didn't get infected (you need to keep it very clean) but it was just very uncomfortable. I had trouble sleeping on that side and even talking on the phone with that ear. Eventually I just took it out and let it heal. I would recommend NOT getting it done at Claire's and look for a more professional place. They probably do have cartilage earrings at the store, even if they don't have it the website. Hope I've given you a perspective.

No, I don't think you will be paralyzed from getting you cartilage pierced. Yes, It hurts...but not so bad....it will take quite a while to heal...but the piercing of the ear itself is not so bad. You will most likely not sleep on that side of your head for quite a while. Claire's does cartilage piercing??? News to me!!! by the way the scale of pain......4 or 5, but it only last for a second. The pain while its healing....(months) I would say that it varies from person to person...mine was about a 6. I took mine out after 6 months...couldn't take it any more. I have my rook pierced and it hurts a lot less than the upper cartilage.

On a scale of 1-10..the piercing itslelf was about a 4...it was just a pinch to me...however...trying to sleep and getting hair stuck in the earring for a few days after the piercing surely made it hurt like a 6.

On a scales from 1-10? about a 4. Mine hurt the most the days after when I slept on it. I had mine done at Claire's too. You can just get a simple stud to put in there after it heals from the initial piercing.

My didn't hurt very much at all. I would say a 3 I guess. The only time it bothered me is in the shower when my hair would get twisted on it and it hurt to get it off. haha. When you first get it done, you will probably have to sleep on the opposite side of the pierced ear because it will be a little sore. They have studs there at the store to pick from.

i made the mistake of getting my cartilage done at a claire's....using the gun is a poor way to get something pierced, especially cartilage. if i could do it over, i'd go to a piercing studio. they're MUCH more knowledgable and MORE trained, and i guarantee it will be done better and you will have a better experience.
also, when you get it pierced, get a ring instead of a stud. i heals faster and is less likely to get infected. mine took months to heal b/c of the stud.
good luck.

It doesnt hurt that bad a nose pierce is worse then an ear pierce and it didnt hurt that bad. BUT your body reaction to it will make you tear even though it doesnt hurt. Just a body reaction to the way your body took the pierce.

too me it was an 8
I would get a stud to start with it is easier to turn and keep clean during the first few weeks of getting it and letting it heal
