Is it offensive to you?
Do you think it's right that the overweight male character always gets the skinny stereotypical "dream girl".
Do you think it's right that overweight women are portrayed as bully's or desperate /sad people.
Do you think that he's basically making fun of plus sized women?
Do you think that Monique or Queen Latifah should stand up and rally against the movie?

Oh, and I'm not white. I am West Indian. I am plus size, I am not morbidly obese and my question is based on my observations regarding the way plus size individuals are treated and stereotyped.

Well this never bothered me but now that you mention it, it is somewhat offensive. I don't think it is right that the overweight male character, nor any male character for that matter always gets the skinny stereotypical "dream girl". It's not fair because about 90 percent of girls don't even look like that. I think quite often overweight women are portrayed as bullies, but not necessarily every time, but they are often portrayed as desperate, sad people. I guess you could say he is making fun of plus sized women but not only that but the personality of that type of woman. I think we need more women in the world like Monique and Queen Latifah (one of my role models) who are comfortable in there own skin and show that not only thin girls are beautiful.

i'm a lot! Eddie Guerro is a legend to no longer make exciting of that's what Eddies_spirit did. I wager he in basic terms must be well-known in the wrestling section. RIP Eddie Guerro to no longer make exciting of!

No, I think Monique will laugh at the movie. he's not necessarily making fun of overweight women. He's making fun of a personality.

Jennifer Hudson is the star "Dream Girl". She's not skinny.

Being white, you probably don't know a lot about black culture. A lot of black men prefer women who are not thin. Main stream media are saying Tyra has gotten fat. I'll bet there's not one black man alive who thinks Tyra is fat. Beyonce lost a lot of weight to be in Dream girls, but you can bet she'll go back to being her normal curvy self. If you go to Ebony/JET Magazine's JET Beauties, you'll see that the featured women are not all bony and gross. They are curvy and normal.

Black humor is quite different than white humor just as British humor is different than American humor.

Most of your questions are generalizations which may be true for the white culture, but not necessarily the black culture.

Unfortunately, Eddie Murphy's not the only one in our society who does this kind of humor. That's why it's so acceptable when he does it.

I completely agree that our society in general should stop criticizing people for their appearance.
