It feels like that baby is really close to my spine and is making my lower back incredibly uncomfortable. I am a very small framed person. I only weigh 110 at 23 weeks. I just need some tricks of the trade to survive the next 4 months.

Try getting on your hands on knees and stretching your back by pushing your back up like a cat. This also lets your belly hang and takes pressure off your back. Exercise also helps. Try going for short walks or swimming (which is great b/c the water takes pressure off your feet, back, etc.). Also sitting on an exercise ball might help. There are also professional masseuses who do pregnancy massages.

Try lying on your right side using a body pillow. If you are not in pain try walking as much as possible to help get the muscles around you in great shape to be prepared for the up coming event. Walking always seems to ease everything it is very relaxing, go slow and enjoy your walk!

My friend had a 'tens' machine which helped.

I recommend light but regular exercise. Its easy to think that resting a bad back is the best option but I think a gentle walk twice a day or swimming will help.

Good luck and hope you feel better soon :o)

when you are in a lot of pain take warm baths and showers... lay on your left side with your knees bent and a pillow between your legs. Walk short walks do just fine, no power walking or anything strenuous. if it's too cold outside become a mall walker. take water pre-natal arobics... all of thes things will help relieve pain from your back and strengthen your muscles.. plus it helps prepare you for childbirth.. good luck

buy plenty of support and body pillows. Try sleeping on your side with a pillow between your legs to help arch the back properly. Your left side is the reccommended side to lie on, but whatever makes you comfy. Also, have your significant other to give you back massages (tell him to avoid pressure points --dont want to send you into premature labor). Congrats ...God BLESS
