No it is quite interesting seeing all the diversities of opinion. I learn a lot about other peoples points of view
I also think a lot of young people use it when they have house maintenance or car maintenance type issues and I enjoy helping them.
I promised my partner faithfully I would not use Yahoo answers any more because it is becoming a bit of an "issue".

No, it's not a waste of time. I have learned a lot on here, and it's wonderful to see people helping each other with thier problems. How can that be a waste of time?

Yes and no. There are times I find a question that I have been wondering myself and find good answers to it. So, this is very useful and anything useful is not a waste of time. There are other times, I get on here during break at work and find myself going over my break time limit while reading, scrolling and answering. Fortunately I work from home. But working from home is not all it's cut out to be. Yes, if you time it right, you can work at your own leisure. But, if you go over your time limit on break in Y/A you are wasting precious time. No one to blame but myself. Self discipline can be very hard.

Not really since I pick and choose what I'm going to answer. Some of the questions don't have enough information to answer them or are slightly dramatic. I do get caught up in it and don't get other things done.
It is fun to read some of the questions & answers. I've picked up a couple of ideas reading others answers. I hope that I have helped with useful information when I answer.

it's not a waste of time. i don't look for serious information from it. but it's fun to get together with people from all over the world and share ideas. Some posting are just plain funny.

I come here on my free time. So no it is not a waste of time to me. I have met some neat people out there and have learned allot about how other people view their world around them.

Yes and no. If you actually need some information or help then no, but if you're just looking for some random time wasting activity, then yes. (I fall into both categories I'm afraid.)
