Our professor wants us to calculate the maximum average income of a certain project. Any body with an idea of what it is? Please help, cause it is urgent.

The max average income can be found if there are several samples taken of a range of data. For example, if you found the average income for 10 cities in America you could find the maximum average income.
The city with the highest average income would be the maximum within the sample range.

Seems to me that there is a contradiction of terms here, surely maximum and average cannot be the same figure.

Sorry, but there is no such thing as a maximum average income.
Maybe you should ask your professor what it is

That doesn't make any sense - to be honest. Did he give you what percentile of the population (lets say the top 10%) to calculate this figure?
