Bitumen is actually a mixture of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons.

Candle wax, or paraffin, consists of alkanes with 20 or more carbons.

Polythene is another name for polyethylene (pr polyethene) which is the polymeric form of CH2=CH2.
