A collection of poetry cycling through the life of my maternal grandfather (raving alcoholic, dead at 27, railroad engineer), and how the tainted and misinformed stories have effected the narrator (more or less me) of the collection. So far, I'm plugging along. There are three sections that move from the narrator speculating about him to his acceptance of familial history as a fable, and then ending with the narrator's own self-examination, insomnia, and minor experiences that seem to carry more weight than they should.
Working mostly in longer, tetrameter lines with an emphasis on lyrical conventions. However, spaced through out are modified sonnets focusing on rust, broken machines, and feral cats, dogs, and other marginal characters within a larger, dominant society.
