Yoga routine. Or karate class should have you doing it in about a month to 3 just don't over do it to hurt yourself but stick with it.

the thing is that its gonna hurt! it shoulod just b a litttle pain though, if it hurts too much that means ur pushing too far into ur splits too fast. one way to get a better split is to face a wall and push ur self up against the wall as much as u can. for now the distance between u and the wall maybe a great one but u can work urself towards the wall if u stay committed. also lean over to one side(leg) and then the other. this will help stretch ur muscles. and when u lean over ur legs hold it for @ least 30 secs other wise its not doing anything for u. You also may want to attend a dance class. maybe jazz or ballet this will help u get ur splits down

everything with stretching is gradual you have to do it slowly and dont push yourself too hard because you may end up tearing a legament or a muscle.

when i was determined to be able to do the splits i would try every day for 15 minutes or so and just hold myself there. The next day i would go down a little farther... but just a little. In 2 weeks I had succeeded

start with the straddle hold it for 30 seconds even if it doest hurt yet move down just a little further then hold for 30 seconds thn move a little further do this until you are completely doing the splits now this will hurt but if you do it every day it will help you get your splits alot quicker

Take it easy. Don't push too hard. My friend is friends with this girl, her coach was trying to get her to do the splits on her left, coach push her down, muscles snap, and now she can't walk. So really take it easy, and be careful.

Then STOP! Not everyone is capable of doing the splits and if it REALLY hurts, then you should stop trying to do them. Stretching further and all the rest of the bad advice here will only make micro tears in your muscles and put stress on your hip and knee joints that will later read to arthritis. Most ballerinas and gymnasts end up with painful arthritis in later years. Really, doing the splits is not worth it, as I guarantee you won't be doing them when you grow up. This is a juvenile thing that it seems many young girls think they HAVE to do.

I'd say keep streching them out. It does take time you dont want to tear a muscle or anything. But I've seen it done if you just keep streching!!!!! Good luck!!!
