I'm sure there are support groups in your area for this. Maybe check with the agency that you are adopting her through, sometimes there are state programs that are free and useful. Sorry I couldn't be more help.

I just wanted to commend you on your choice to adpot and older child, no one really does this and it takes a HUGE heart to welcome them into your home. Too many older children get so lost in the system.
I have always wanted to adopt them, but I have to wait until my 3y/o gets bigger before I do.

I'm sure there are some kind of parenting resources available to you. I would ask the social worker or adoption agency that you usually work with.

And may I commend you for wanting to adopt a teenager. As a fellow human, I thank you.
