i wud first put an open dot on -6 and shade to the left!

Here's one way to do it. First, draw a vertical line above -6. Then draw a solid line, not dashed as shown here, with an arrowhead pointing in the negative direction. That indicates that all points on that ray are included in the solution set. Then, put an empty circle at the top of the vertical line and at the right end of the arrow. That indicates that -6 is not included in the solution set.

Unfortunately, the constraints of the ASCII character set would not allow me to make the graph exactly as it should look.
