making sure to clip your nails straight across and use a file to smooth them out, often helps, if they are ingrown and you cant soak them in warm water then pull it out, see a podiatrist,

Ingrown toenails - get it removed by a podiatrist. I had this and once they did the surgery (real quick, in his office - went right back to work). Now, I no longer have the problem. If you don't have it removed, you will always have this problem and it usually only gets worse.

Toenail infections - you can either see your podiatrist or your internist. If it's the fungus, there's a medicine out there (lamisil) that you can take to help it go away. I had this too (really gross), but the medicine made it go away.

Good luck.

first let me just say i feel your pain!!! OK 1st in your bath tub run water as hot as you can stand it not a full tub just enough to cover your foot them add bleach 1:2 soak your foot while milking your toe this will get rid of the infection and soften the callus around the ingrown nail. then with an Emory bored or needle lift the ingrown part out and cut it at an angle. it will hurt but is instantly better after its out. they are caused by a fungal infection as well as the thickening an oral anti fungal will cure it not a topical or you may need to get your toe nails that are ingrown removed. try the bleach first my doctor told me about it and it really worked for me.

Fungus infections cause the toenails to thicken. See a podiatrist, he can help with both the infection and the ingrown nails.

The thick toe nails is fungus so see your podiatrist about that. For ingrown toenails you would be wise to see a podiatrist for that and once treated you should be able to not have the problem or be able to manage it at home.

Wouldn't iodine kill the fungus? A doctor told me that iodine was the only thing that would go through the nail to cure an infected toe on my son. He also recommended Desenex ointment - although the formula has been changed - the active ingredient was undecylenic acid (powder or cream) (Pharmacy - Derman antifungal cream). It will flat kill stinky feet fungus.

Yes, I like the bleach remedy but...it is bleach and will be absorbed in your system...TOXINS. You have a yeast infection as said before and you can test yourself at home see the source below. Use Oil of Oregano and dipp your toe in it for 6 weeks twice a day or use Olive leave extract. See source. Take Oil of Oregano internally, no side effects but it will take time.

it will hurt some but dig the embedded toenail out and when you trim, trim straight across/ soak your foot in hot salt water the reason for cutting straight across is to keep the nail from growing into your skin the hot salt water will help with the soreness and prevent infection

See a doctor, he/she should be willing to take it out. May need Lamasile(Spelling?) an anti-bio for this infection prescription only drug.

PS:

You may have to treat all foot ware or discard them doctors advice and instruction will help.
