Hey guys, I'm seeing this guy (on and off) for a few years and he's really competitive. Like for instance, I have a 4.0 gpa. and he has a 2.8, so in order to out do me in other aspects, he'll be like "oh look i scored more than you here. guess im better"... im sure he's not kidding because of the way in which he says it. I got accepted to college and he didn't.. so he's mad at me for that. sometimes, he'll just randomly say on the street "see, that guy checkin me out.. he's not even lookin at you.. haha" or something. Is he that insecure or im looking way too much into it?

He just wants you to think he's important too as well as "good" enough in your eyes. It looks like he looks up to you and really likes you and feels that you may look down on him. His belittling you is just his way of making himself feel as empowered as you and also on your level. If it gets out of hand - dump him. If you like this guy ask him why he does it and tell him it hurts your feelings.

You need to tell him that you like him, and are not interested in how well he can do things.

Good Luck! You are a nice guy - you'll find somebody!

i think he's trying 2 impress u in his own little way. it seems like he feels insignificant and stupid compared 2 u and he wants u so much that he points out when ppl r checking him out or when he gets a better grade on a paper. i think he is trying 2 make u proud of him but he doesn't seem 2 get that he's saying it in a way that offends u. try giving him some praises every so often like "u look nice 2 day" or "u did pretty good". that might help. if not, then just talk 2 him

Dump him...you can do better. don't even waste anymore energy on him!. why would you spend your day with someone always wanting to do better than you? I would wanna spend my days with someone wanting to share stuff with me, make me smile and be grateful that we are together. He sounds like to much hard work if you ask me.! dump him, move on to better things. good luck.

Sometimes the true hurts and you already know what you want to do. so don't ask a question if you dont want an answer that may hurt. sorry.

Keep away from people who try to belittle your ambitions. Small people always do that, but the really great make you feel that you, too, can become great.

yeah... he sounds very insecure. . You should talk to him about that. He thinks you are BETTER than him.. Make sure he knows that neither one of you is BETTER than the other.. Each one of you has your own strenghths and weaknesses.

Talk to him about it. Tell him it hurts you when he says those things and ask him why he says them.
