Founder of Texas-Stephen F Austin
Physical Features-it's big. It has beaches on the Gulf of Mexico. It has plains on from the northern Panhandle down to Dallas. It has the Rio Grande on the southern border with Mexico. There are hills in the center of it and mountains and deserts in the west.
Some of the biggest cities in the United States are in Texas. Houston, Dallas, and San Antonio are in the top ten biggest cities in the country.

1. Stephen F. Austin, known as the "father of texas", began American settlement of texas by bringing "the first 300" American families to Texas.
(Texas first president, and later the first governor, was Sam Houston)

4. Texas won its independence from mexico in 1836, and was annexed to the U.S in 1845. During the years in between it existed as an independent country, the Republic of Texas

Texas has mountains, ocean, islands, hills, plains, forestry, dessert, grasslands. It has the second most lakes in the U.S. behind Alaska. It is the 2nd biggest state. everything else you can find on the internet
