The best one I have read is "Will in the World: How Shakespeare Became Shakespeare" by Stephen Greenblatt. It's fresh out in paperback, and it is up-to-the-minute with the research.

Be aware when reading any Shakespeare biographies, though, that facts are hard to find. In his day society wasn't as fond of record-keeping as we are today, and many details of his life are subject to debate.

A Day in the Life of William Shakespeare is a pretty good book about Shakespeare. It has a lot of useful information although you must be aware that some is speculation and theory, as not that much information is truly known.

It is yet to be written...Go for it. If this isn't what you wanted to hear, I'm sorry.
