I agree with you, he's one of the best... at throwing interceptions! He's only 4 away from being the all time NFL record holder.
George Blanda threw 277 in 341 games. Favre has thrown 273 in just 241 games. I predict that he'll break the record in his first game next season.

He's not.......he was a great QB, but far from the greatest of all time. What about Montana, Young, Marino, Elway, Aikman, Bradshaw, Staubach, Namath, just to mention a few that are probably greater than Favre. He has a place in the history of the NFL, but not as the greatest QB ever to play the game. That's just laughable.

What makes him so good is that he's studied the techniques of the greatest quarterbacks to every grace a football field: Joe Montana, Vinny Testeverde, Steve Young, Terry Bradshaw, Y.A. Tittle, Roger Staubach and Bart Starr. Unfortunately for him, that doesn't make him the best of all time. It makes him darned good, but not the best.
I'd say that 10 years after he retires he'll be held in the same vein as Jim Kelly and Fran Tarkenton. If he'd have retired a year or two ago, he'd be in the upper echelon with the likes of John Elway and Dan Marino.

First of all, Favre is NOT the best QB of all time. I can think of probably 5-10 QB's I would take over him. Joe Montana, John Elway, Terry Bradshaw, Roger Staubach, Johnny Unitas.....are just a few I would take over Favre. Dont get me wrong, he is a Hall of Famer for sure. Just not the best of all time.

Bret Favre is no way near the best quarterback of all time. Only Green Bay fans may think that. There are numerous others far better than Favre and they have already been mentioned by others answering this question. If you already know he's the best, you should already know why you think that. Why ask us? Are you drunk or smoking something?

I guess it has everything to do with being tough, determined and consistent. To last as long as he has through the tough Green Bay Winters is an amazing accomplishment. I wouldn't say he's a better QB than Peyton Manning right now, but if you look at his entire career, I agree that he's the best ever. He's still one of the best Quarterbacks in the game because of his experience, passion and enthusiasm.

Because he plays with grit and heart. It's fun to see the jealous haters on here. If only their team ever had a player such as Favre. They don't know what it's like to have a player that only comes around once a lifetime.

Uh...He is not the best QB of all time...Joe Montana is the best QB of all time, followed by Terry Bradshaw...I would put him in the top 10 though...right behind John Elway...

his long career and gunslinger mentality put him right up there with the best, but I dont think you can compare him with Montana, or Bradshaw who had huge success and were undefeated in super bowls. I mean montana still holds a number of super bowl records one of which is 0 interceptions in 4 games (unheard of) and a number of others...
